In early 2004, at the same time I was job-hunting for a high tech position, I started thinking I might enjoy having a business on the side and began learning about some direct sales companies.

In May 2004, I saw the USA Weekend article about Shure Pets, and thought, this might be for me. I've always been skeptical of multi-level marketing companies and get-rich quick schemes, so I read as much as I could about Shure Pets and was pleased that I had found a legitimate company with attractive, quality products. As a life-long pet lover, I thought what fun it would be to spoil pets and get paid for it. So I spoke with Andrew and began my adventure as a Shure Pets Consultant.

I have 3 cats in my household: My black cat, Tarzan, who has been with me for over 16 years and is the best cat I know, my Birman cat, Casper, and my granddaughter's feisty kitten, Billy. I love finding new ways to spoil our pets with Shure Pets products.

Being in a business where you can help people and the pets they love is a wonderful thing. In the short time I've been doing this I've met many great people and pets at fundraisers, expos, parties and community events. I'm not by nature, a "sales-type" person, and I am happy that having the connection with other pet lovers makes sharing the products and the business opportunity come naturally.

I originally did not have big plans to recruit new consultants, but since I've easily recruited many great people, I definitely will continue to grow my team. We have a wonderful team and enjoy learning from each other, and sharing our challenges and successes during periodic team conference calls.

Founded in 2002 by Andrew Shure, Shure Pets is based in Chicago, IL. After months of intense and meticulous research, official recruiting efforts for our Pet Consultants began on September 2, 2003. The Shure Pets product line is available exclusively via our network of independent Pet Consultants; they cannot be purchased at stores anywhere.

The idea behind Shure Pets is simple. Andrew envisioned a pet products company that offered a wide variety of health related products and accessories for our animal friends. Additionally, he imagined the company working much like a close-knit, loyal family, in which each Pet Consultant would be truly knowledgeable and passionate about animals, and be able to participate at the level that worked best for his/her personal circumstances. In other words: the opportunity and freedom to be your own boss.

I am a distributor of another Direct Selling Company. Is it a conflict of interest if I continue to sell for them and also am a Shure Pets Consultant?
That is acceptable. You may work for any other company (direct selling or not) and still distribute the Shure Pets product line as long as any business you conduct for any other company does not interfere with any of your Shure Pets business and vice versa.

Is there a monthly amount of sales needed by a Pet Consultant to stay in the program?
To remain in the program, you must be considered "active." The sales amount needed to earn commission checks is $200 every 3 months and to remain active is at least 1 transaction of any amount every 3 months.

Can Pet Consultants sell products to Pet Groomers, Veterinarians, Clinics etc?
Yes, our Pet Consultants can distribute our products in any manner they feel appropriate. This may include, but is not limited to, groomers, vets, clinics, family, friends, dog parks, e-bay etc.

What is the company background? How did the idea for Shure Pets develop?
The company began in October of 2002. We have spent months conducting intense and meticulous research on both the direct sales and the pet industry to arrive at where we are today. This research will always continue as Shure Pets refuses to rest on its past success. Founder Andrew Shure has always been intrigued by the power and nature of the Direct Sales Industry and building a strong team of sales consultants. Furthermore, Andrew has a overwhelming passion for pets. Noting the dynamic growth of both the Direct Sales and Pet Industries, he realized the potential of combining them to form a premier, leading direct selling company. Additionally, giving pet lovers the opportunity to run their own businesses (especially in today's economy) excited Andrew, and thus Shure Pets was created.

Are 'online' Pet Parties allowed?
Yes they are allowed.


How often do you intend to add new products, and generate new Cat-alogs?
Shure Pets will constantly update and improve the product line based off of sales and suggestions from our Pet Consultants. With each new product line introduction, Shure Pets plans on launching new or modified Cat-alogs displaying these items.

Are there ever any bonuses to motivate the Pet Consultants?
Yes, various bonuses, for both sales and recruiting aspects, are offered frequently to help motivate the sales staff and continue to build their excitement and help them reach their goals.

What support materials (i.e. catalogs, recruiting flyers, etc.) are supplied to the Pet Consultants?
When you become a Pet Consultant, you will receive the "New Puppy on the Block Kit" which includes the Shure Pets binder which includes over one hundred pages of informational material regarding growing, developing and maintaining your business, product facts, Pet Party tips, a planner and contact information. Additionally, our website and chat group (pet consultants only) contain beneficial documents and materials to assist you in your journey. Monthly newsletters are sent to all Pet Consultants with important information and fun stories and testimonials. Finally, the Shure Pets staff and network of Pet Consultants are always available to answer any questions or help with any concerns that may arise.

How are the leads you get from your advertising distributed?
If someone inquires about Shure Pets (Pet Consultant Opportunity, Attend a Party, Buy Products etc.) we label this as a "lead". We pass on these leads to active Pet Consultants in the inquirer's local area and the Pet Consultant contacts the interested party assisting them with all requests.

Will samples be available for Consultants to purchase to help them in their business?
Yes, we have a variety of sample sized products. More information is included in the New Puppy on the Block Kit for new Pet Consultants.

Are Pet Consultants allowed to advertise and use the Shure Pets name in any advertisement?
Yes, however you must state that you are an Independent Pet Consultant and not make any false claims about Shure Pets, its products, or potential monetary gains future Pet Consultants could make. Please get all ads approved by the Shure Pets Corporate office before distributing them to the community.

Can we print our own business cards using the Shure Pets name?
We have an order form for your own purr-sonalized business cards. This form is in the New Puppy on the Block Starter Kit.

What is the average amount of sales placed for an order?
Through June 2006 the average order placed was $135.85 and the average Pet Party order placed was $392.66.
